Wanda Farms is truly a hidden gem in Northern Illinois. My wife and I recently took a little adventure out to their farm, where we picked up some fresh eggs and breakfast sausage. From the moment we cracked open that very first egg, we knew we had found something special. The quality is unmatched, we were instantly hooked. We immediately signed up on their website for home delivery, which was incredibly easy to navigate. Their customer service is outstanding, and the convenience of their delivery service is a huge bonus. If you live anywhere near Wanda Farms, you owe it to yourself to give them a try. We can’t wait to explore more of what they offer in the coming weeks. Thank you, Hanna, for the amazing experience!
I went to Wanda's Farm last year as I was interested in purchasing a cow share that was grass fed. Wanda Farm offered a tour of the farm which I knew my kids would love so we went and checked it out. We just absolutely loved their operation. Joe really puts in so much effort and passion into raising his animals humanely. We purchased our first ever cow-share, a 1/4 of beef. It is by far the best tasting beef I have ever had. I definitely will be buying more before the year is up. If anyone is looking for quality, 100% grass-fed beef, this is the place to go to!
Great young family providing quality, healthy, responsibly raised meats. Wanda farms and other similar farms in the northern illinois and southern Wisconsin area go above and behond to provide the best, highest quality products. Wanda farms specifically has a very convenient and thoughtful set up. They have an actual farm store on site. Open with regular hours to pick up their quality meats. You can also utilize their home delivery option although I personally enjoy making the drive over to their farm and browsing their selection. There is a clear difference between typical grocery store meats and responsibly raised regenerative meats from local producers. The nutritional profile as well as the taste is obviously superior. Whether you believe in the mission that Wanda farms promotes, whether you just seek higher quality food for your family or better yet, you understand how important both of these issues are and how they work together, do yourselves a favor while supporting local business and shop Wanda farms. Highly recommended.
We're not going to tell you we're "grass-fed" or “pasture raised” and call it a day. Here's exactly how we raise our animals:
✓ 100% grass-fed AND grass-finished beef year round. Most "grass-fed" beef is finished on grain—our beef never sees a grain in its life. Only pasture, our own hay prepared during summer (to feed during winter), and free-choice minerals.
✓ Cattle rotated to fresh pasture daily—not weekly, not monthly. Daily. It's called rotational grazing, and it's why our pastures are vibrant after seven years and are only becoming healthier.
✓ Stockpiled winter grass—even in Illinois. We reserve summer pasture for winter grazing.
✓ Garlic before antibiotics. When an animal isn't quite right, we reach for free-choice garlic and minerals first. Antibiotics only in life-threatening cases—almost never.
✓ No hormones, steroids, or growth promotants. No "Paylean" in the pork. No hormone implants in the beef. Our animals grow at their own pace because that's how nature does it.
✓ No mRNA vaccines. Even certified organic operations allow them. We don't, and we have no plans to.
✓ No GMOs. No glyphosate. No animal byproducts in feed. Our pigs and chickens get
non-GMO grain. Our cattle eat only grass. No "funny business of cows eating cows."
✓ Beef aged 12–14 days.
✓ No nitrates, nitrites, MSG, added sugar.
✓ Humanely raised. Humanely processed. Local, family-owned, USDA-inspected butcher using Temple Grandin's humane handling protocols.
✓ BPA-free vacuum-sealed packaging. Flash-frozen the day it's cut for peak freshness.
(...That costs more than any supermarket meat.)
Here's what you're actually paying for.
We don’t compete with grocery store prices. Grocery stores hit those prices by cutting corners: sourcing from “factory farms” raising thousands of animals in confinement, feeding the animals cheap grains, and shipping them across the country in plastic. That's how a pound of ground beef gets to only $5.99.
Our cattle live 24-30 months on pasture. Our broilers live their entire lives outside, moved daily to fresh grass. We process at small, family-run USDA facilities that charge more because they care more. We pack everything in BPA-free vacuum seals and ship it frozen the day it leaves the farm.
When you buy from Wanda Farms, you're not just buying meat. You're buying:
• Nutrient density that grocery store meat physically cannot match (it's the food the animal ate).
• A traceable supply chain. You can drive to our farm and see the cows.
• A small farm that keeps land in pasture instead of row crops.
• Meat your family will actually eat, instead of a freezer full of stuff nobody touches.
Most of our customers tell us the same thing after their first month: they spend a little more on meat, and a lot less on takeout. The food at home is finally worth coming home for.
Quick tip: Bundles and bulk shares (¼, ½, or whole beef and ½ or whole hogs) are the most cost effective.

Yes. Every cut is vacuum-sealed and flash-frozen at the butcher the day it's cut, then shipped frozen with insulation and ice packs.
We ship across the entire Midwest, with nationwide shipping coming soon. Free home delivery on orders over $160. Delivery takes place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
We recommend about 1 cubic foot per 30 pounds of meat. A standard upright freezer in your garage is plenty for most families. (We have a free guide on choosing the right freezer if you're starting from scratch.)
Not at all. Most customers order one-time. Subscribe & Save is available if you want 5% off and an automatic delivery every 1, 2, 4, or 6 weeks, but you can skip, edit, or cancel anytime. No lock-in.
No, and on purpose. The short answer: we believe our practices are beyond what organic is meant to represent. The longer answer: a lot of "organic" today is just industrialized agriculture with a label.
We don't use the certification because we'd rather be transparent about our practices and let you (or a farm visit) be the certifier. Check our Standards page for the full list.
Because we don't farm like the grocery store. Our animals take more time and labor to raise. We don’t cut corners. You're paying for time, traceability, and nutrition. Not marketing or some label.
Yes, until that week's order deadline (Sunday). Log into your account, click Order History, and edit it from there.
You can also switch between home delivery and farm pickup right up until your order is packed.
If you don't love it, we make it right. Period.
Every cut, every bird, every box carries our family name on it. If something isn't right when you open it, you tell us, and we fix it. That's the deal.

P.S. If you've read this far, here's the truth: most people who try Wanda Farms once become customers for years.
Not because we're loud about marketing… but because once you taste what real meat is supposed to taste like, the grocery store stops feeling like an option.
