Pork Marinara
This slow-simmered pork marinara brings together the richness of pasture-raised pork with the simplicity of a hearty Italian meal. Perfect for a Sunday dinner or a cozy, easy weeknight feast.

Ingredients

  • (2-3 lb.) Pork Shoulder
  • (1 lb.) Uncooked Pasta (Spaghetti or Penne)
  • (2 jars) Pasta Sauce
  • (2-3 ct.) Garlic Cloves (Minced)
  • (1/2 of Whole Onion) Onion (Optional)
  • (n/a) Olive Oil
  • (n/a) Salt
  • (n/a) Fresh Basil (For Garnish)
  • (n/a) Parmesan Cheese (When Serving)

Directions

STEP ONE: PREP PORK SHOULDER

-Quickly sear the pork shoulder on each side, until browned, for 1–2 minutes on high heat.

-Remove and set aside.

STEP TWO: SAUTÉ GARLIC/ONION

-In a large pot or Dutch oven, sauté garlic and/or onions in olive oil over medium heat until fragrant and the onions are translucent.

STEP THREE: COOK PORK SHOULDER

-Place the pork shoulder into the pot with the garlic, onions, and olive oil.

-Add the pasta sauce, stirring to coat the pork. Cover and cook for 2½ hours, or until the pork easily falls apart with a fork.

STEP FOUR: COOK PASTA

-Once the pork has been thoroughly cooked and the sauce is ready, boil the pasta in salted water until al dente.

-Drain and set aside.

    STEP FIVE: SERVE

    -Shred the pork into the sauce, then toss with pasta until well combined.

    -Serve warm, topped with fresh basil and grated Parmesan
